With the successful completion of the course students will be able to:
• understand the basic principles and concepts of Biology, especially with respect to the chemical compounds of living organisms, the uses and
management of chemical compounds and energy by living organisms, the structure of cells and cellular division, heredity and evolution by natural
selection.
• use an optical microscope and other basic laboratory apparatus
• perform basic laboratory techniques for the study of biological samples
• assess contemporary issues and applications of Biology, especially Genetics and biotechnology, with a critical and scientific ally based approach
