-Discuss basic concepts of environmental health and convey an understanding of their value and importance.

-Discuss and develop insight into the following terms and concepts as they relate to global environmental health: toxic chemicals, diseases, indoor pollution, occupational exposure, air, water and soil pollution, diet.

-Identify individual and human behaviours that hinder the well-being of environmental health globally.

-Familiarize with the legislation on occupational health and safety.

-Develop critical thinking skills on environmental issues.

  7. Pesticides and other organic chemicals Pesticides, PCBs, dioxins, solvents, plastics, household products

  9. Air quality Sources, air quality standards, health effects
  10. Food safety Food hazards, microbial illness, food safety regulation
