Dr. Iosif Botetzagias – Homepage
Welcome… to my homepage. Here you may find information concerning my work and research interests. I would be glad to answer your comments and/or suggestions on how it may be improved.
I was born and raised on Corfu, Greece, and I studied at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, (B.Sc.), University of East Anglia, UK (M.Sc.) και Keele University, UK (Ph.D.).
Since 2005 I have been at the Department of Environment, University of the Aegean, where I currently hold the post of Professor of Environmental Politics & Policy. I teach/taught undergraduate & postgraduate level courses at the International Hellenic University, the University of Thessaly, the Ionian University (Greece) and at the Central European University (Austria).
My research and teaching focus on Environmental Politics and Sociology. More specifically I am interested on environmental behaviors, environmental communication, green parties, the state-society interactions on environmental issues, and environmental NGOs. Over the past few years I have been developing an interest on environmental history- thus I am managing A.I.ON. (Humans, History & the Environment), an online “map” depository of scientific research in the Greek environmental histrory.
